

It says to me that the idea generation, starts on the 2nd of March and ends on the 27. Let's put it down here so you can see exactly what happens.

Starting with the first task, Idea Generation, I'm going to update the status on that, so I click on 'idea generation', click on 'task' then 'update'. By going to this very top corner, right-click and then tick tracking, and now you see, that I have all the columns I would need in order to enter the status of the project. This is one way, I find it cumbersome, I rather use what is provided by pre-built tables. There are two different ways of doing it, one is by just going to inserting the column and then picking the columns that you want that represents the earned value system terminology. With that said, let me show you how we will do the tracking. Now remember that, this is the only red we have here because our project was resource-constrained, so it's because of the resources that this task had to be delayed this much therefore, the critical tasks are mostly because of the resource shortages rather than technical requirements. But I'm just going to show you with the first few how we enter data tracking. Now, there are too many tasks that occurs all the way to here, the reason I picked July 13 is because I wanted to make sure that I have one critical task in our updated information, so I can illustrate how we assess the progress later on. Now what you would see is that a green line appears here, so that means that we want to have updates on tasks that occur all the way to here. Let's say the status date is July 13, and I'm going to set that as our current date as well. To do that first, I would like to go to the File, and click on information, and set a current date and status date. This is our baseline plan, now the team will come back and tell us exactly what they have accomplished and how much money has been spent, so we can assess the progress of the project based on its budget and timing.
